My work is layered with different applications of acrylic paint, impasto, gesso, charcoal and graphite.  Adding and taking away from the layers allows me to work through ideas and concepts. The process becomes performative - working across large canvases - telling stories and retrieving memories. These are moments of catharsis.

Figures will recur throughout the artworks and are often the personification of emotion(s). Their forms allude to ideas of innocence, femininity, and fragility. I intentionally create dream-like compositions and use  interesting marks to avoid being too literal. My works are splashed with motifs to encourage the viewer to ask questions and create conversation.
